Quick Overview - new 3D Entry Level cards Competition is good for low market prices! There are a couple of new 3D graphic cards available in the low-cost segment. Here´s a short overview on the performance of these cards:
Benchmark System: Pentium III 800EB, ASUS CUSL-2 (I815), 256MB PC 133 CL2, Windows 98SE, DirectX 8.0 I used a mid-range CPU to benchmark the cards. MX 200/400 cards are not available yet here in Germany so I only post a quick overview at this time.
Evolva 16Bit (DirectX7 Game,
T&L) The GeForce 2 MX leads in 16Bit 800x600. But from 1024x768 on we see the Kyro II powered 3D Prophet 4500 mit Kyro II on top, followed by the MX. Third position is the new 3D Prophet 4000XT and last place goes to RADEON VE . Evolva 32Bit (DirectX7 Game,
T&L) The 3D Prophet 4500 has the lead in 32Bit, followed by the Kyro 1 card 3D Prophet 4000XT. MX and RADEON VE are close together here.
Quake 3 v1.17 Demo001 Normal (16Bit)
- (OpenGL) Quake 3 Arena 16Bit shows a similar situation than Evolva. 3D Prophet 4500 in front of GeForce 2 MX, 3D Prophet 4000 XT and RADEON VE. Quake 3 v1.17 Demo001 High Quality
(32Bit +Max Textures) - (OpenGL) Nothing really new here. The GeForce 2 MX falls behind the 3D Prophet 4000XT. RADEON VE once again only takes the last place. A detailed review will follow! |
