Hercules 3D Prophet II GTS 64MB (2/9)

Now let's take a closer look at the board Hercules sent me. This is by no means a retail-board, more like a prototype for compatibility testing. Right now the board is set to run at slightly higher frequencies (220/386) than the shipping product. Whenever possible, I "underclocked" the board to run at 366MHz to give you an impression of what the "real deal" will get you.

Aside from the added memory, the only difference in features between the Prophet II GTS 64 and the "standard" edition is the inclusion of a DVI interface, which allows you to use a digital flat-panel monitor. The layout compared to the 32MB board (picture on page 1), but other than that, there are no differences. Hercules uses the same Conexant Bt869KRF TV-Out chip, located on a daughterboard this time. Basically, it's your standard NVIDIA reference design. The heatsinks now cover two chips each, but drivers and included software are identical.

This article has a different goal. I would like to answer the following question: Is it worth spending the extra money on this card or should you stick with the 32MB version?
