Hercules 3D Prophet II GTS 64MB (3/9)

The benchmarks

Testing proceeded in the exact same environment as with the 32MB board review: Tekram P6BX-A Mainboard (Intel BX chipset), 196MB RAM, Windows98SE.

Quick note about the benchmarks: Both cards were tested using the latest official Hercules driver, based on NVIDIA's reference release v5.16 (60Hz, V-Sync OFF). The shaded beams in the graph represent the results with the cards overclocked to their maximum capability (32: 220/370 | 64: 225/400).

NVIDIA Treemark

This benchmark by NVIDIA primarily tests a videocard's onboard T&L unit. Memory bandwidth has a negligible impact in this scenario.

NVIDIA Treemark

Minimal differences in scores here. The increased memory and core clockspeed have no effect on the results.

DRAKAN

Drakan is rather CPU-dependent, but at higher resolutions it can reveal differences between videocards' capabilities.

DRAKAN

At 16bit there are no differences to speak of. It seems like all cards could do better here with a faster CPU. At 32bit color, the extra 32MB RAM gets to flex its muscles.
