Thanks to its graphics engine, probably one of the most advanced in use, Quake3 is our standard where 3D performance is concerned. It partially supports Hardware geometry transformation.

Explanation of the Q3A quality settings:

Normal: 16bit color with bilinear filtering
High Quality: 32bit color with trilinear filtering
High Quality++: 32bit color with trilinear filtering, additionally maximum texture size and polygoncount

Quake3 1.16n   NORMAL - Demo001

Up to 1024x786, all of the cards are close together. At 1280x1024 we can see the benefits of the higher memory speed. At 1600x1200 we can finally see the advantage of 64MB RAM.

Quake3 1.16n   High Quality - Demo001

At 32bit color, memory bandwidth already starts to impact performance at 1024x786. At 1280, the 64MB version can distance itself from the rest of the field.
