Intel Celeron 566 (3/7) Benchmarks I tested the Celerons performance using the following mix of synthetic and in-game benchmarks:
Testbed system:
Other CPUs:
All benchmarks with the Celeron 566 were run once at 566 MHz (66MHz FSB) and once overclocked to 850MHz (100 MHz). ZDNet CPUMark99(TM) CPUMark99 is a wholly synthetic benchmark that returns abstract numbers as results, comparable only to each other. As you can see, results are directly influenced by FSB speed and consequently memory subsystem performance. The overclocked 464A is almost on the same level as the 566A on the 66 MHz FSB. At 850 MHz (100 MHz FSB), the new Celeron pulls ahead and lets the competition eat its dust. Sisoft Sandra Sandra lets us put some Dhry- and Whetstone numbers to the processors.
Clockspeed is the word here the higher the better. The scores reflect that.
The MMX intensive multimedia benchmark is equally hungry for clockspeed. The Celeron 300A is understandably at a clear disadvantage. |
