Intel Celeron 566 (4/7)

I tested 3Dmark2000 once with Software/PIII optimizations turned on at 640x480. Then I switched to Hardware T&L at 800x600, 1024x786, and 1280x1024. The CPU is the deciding factor at 640x480, as ASUS' V7700 GeForce2 is still a long ways away from its fill-rate limit:

The Celeron 300A is the only processor running completely in software mode, due to its lack of PIII SSE extensions. The other CPU's don't share this disadvantage and benefit greatly from MadOnion.com's optimizations. The programmers seem to have done some great work on the software implementation.

3DMark 2000 - 16Bit Hardware T&L

Again we see the Celeron 300A fall behind due to its low memory speed. Thanks to the 100MHz FSB, the overclocked Celeron 464 can jump ahead of the 566. L2 cache size also plays a part here, and we see the PIII 600E score visibly higher than the Celeron 850.

Basically we get the same results as using 16 bit, but that's no great surprise.
