I tortured the processors once with demo001 and once with NVIDIA’s new NV15Demo (High Polygon). While demo001 primarily stresses the videocard, NV15Demo just loves fpu-power. Although the Quake3 engine utilizes the transformation aspect of a videocard’s T&L unit, the GPU’s share in the overall work is rather small:

Notice how the 464 can keep up with the PIII 500. The Celeron is definitely profiting from its faster 2nd level cache running at full speed. Surprisingly, the 566 isn’t up to the same task, limited once again by its lower FSB. At 850, however, it rules the roost.

The results are in line with what we’ve seen before, with the lower end processors slipping just a bit lower.
