Report: Computex 2002 (2/5)

VIA

I would say that VIA held the most chaotic press conference of this year's Computex. Other colleagues, whose names I'd prefer not to mention, went as far as to call it the most unprofessional event they had ever attended.

Originally the press conference was scheduled to last for several hours, 3 ― to be exact. After the assembled journalists pointed out that there was more on their schedules than VIA's presentation, the program was condensed into just over one hour. The result was naturally a very hectic atmosphere. One question that remained unanswered and mystifies me still: What exactly was that ominous Chinese voice that inexplicably found its way into the PA system at the beginning of the press conference saying? Whatever it was, it certainly made the already nervous VIA staff even more jumpy.
