VideoLogic SIROCCO Crossfire (3/5)

Speakers: Satelittes

The four completely identical satellites (10cm wide x 13,6cm high x 7,4cm deep) use a 3" (7,5cm) low/middle range and a 10mm high-frequency membrane - both of course magnetically shielded, as is to be expected of a desktop speaker meant for  use near monitors. I kind of missed some rubber feet on the bottom of the plastic speakers, which would have kept them more stable and less susceptible to sliding around. Another extra I kept wishing for was either stands or a wall mounting kit for the rear speaker, like the kind that Creative ships with its sound systems. This way, you find yourself with rather limited options of where to put them.

Speakers: Subwoofer

The passive 6,5" (16,5cm) low subwoofer  (23,5cm wide x 42cm high x 37cm deep) is housed in a massive polywood (MDF) chassis. A metal grate protects the membrane from accidental (or other) kicks and damage. The subwoofers bass-reflex tube opens to the bottom of the chassis, which, like the satellites, unfortunately lacks rubber feet. On the other hand, the greater weight of the chassis makes the subwoofer inherently more stationary.
