Matrox G450 (6/8) 3D Benchmarks QUAKE3 ARENA This OpenGL based game is a true test for any video card. The game engine offers limited T&L support under OpenGL and makes heavy use of multitexturing. When set to "32Bit High Quality", trilinear filtering is used. Again, the G450 drags way behind the rest. The older G400 is clearly faster. Of note: Both the G400 and the G450 use a 16Bit Z-buffer this is the default setting for Matrox cards. When switched to 32Bit, the results plummeted even further (G450 Norm 1024 from 57,5 down to 47,3 FPS). NVIDIA cards use a 24Bit Z-buffer and an 8Bit stencil-buffer by default. |
