GeForce2: Duo Deluxe (8/12)

Testsystem

Pentium III System:

ASUS CUSL2

All benchmarks were run on my standard ASUS CUSL2 (i815E) based testing system. It was equipped with a Intel Pentium III 866E (6,5x133) and 128 MB PC133 RAM. As always, each card was treated to a fresh installation of Win98SE - only a matter of about 2 minutes, thanks to Norton Ghost.

Antec PP303X

Antec’s powerful and reliable Antec PP303X (300W) supplied the system with the necessary power.

  System
CPU Intel Pentium III 866
Mainboard ASUS CUSL2 (Bios 1002.007)
Chipset Intel i815
FSB 133 MHz
AGP-clock 66 MHz
Memory 128MB PC-133 (3/3/3)
HD Seagate 12GB ST313021A DMA 66
OS Windows 98SE
Misc 10MBit Network card (Realtek)

Driver versions used during testing:

  • AOpen PA256 Deluxe - v5.22
  • ASUS AGP-V7700 Deluxe - v5.30RC
  • Matrox G450 - 6.10.004
  • 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 - v1.01.03-beta

Note: I included the G450 due to its great amount of functionality. A G450TV will be introduced shortly, which will have a comparable feature set to these cards, including TV-In and TV-Out. The Voodoo 5 is here for the sake of completeness. A comparison with ATi’s 64MB RADEON would have been very interesting. Unfortunately I don’t currently have one to play with. Since the results I have are a bit on the old side, I decided that including them wouldn’t be a fair representation of the card’s performance.
