First Look: NVIDIA GeForce 3 (5/6) ASUS AGP-V8200
Taiwan-based manufacturer ASUS has christened its GeForce 3 board AGP-V8200. As usual, the card will be available in Pure and Deluxe (with TV-In/Out) flavors. Both cards will carry 64MB of 3,8ns RAM. The Deluxe version will no longer use the Chrotel chip but will instead use the Philips chip of Elsa Video Module fame. A final decision has yet to ba made on the design of the HSF (heatsink/fan combo). The board will come bundled with ASUS's software DVD player as well as the Quake 3 engine based first person shooter "Star Trek: Elite Force". Below are pictures of the two boards: Hercules 3D Prophet III
Hercules is continuing its highly praised Prophet 3D line into the third generation now. So far, there isn't any data available on the card's software bundle, so we'll just have to wait and see. Once again, the Prophet is a visual treat in itself: aside from the trademark light-blue board, the card features an interesting cooling solution - a Mini-Orb! (Kyle will love it!) ELSA Gladiac 920
ELSA is taking this opportunity to introduce a new naming convention for its cards. The first place will denote the product category: 3xx for low-end, 5xx for mid-range and 9xx for high-end parts. The following two digits will denote the chip's name (i.e 20 for the GeForce 3 / NV20). The board itself follows NVIDIA's reference design very strictly. The card will come bundled with a special DX8 version of the adventure/first person shooter "Giants: Citizen Kabuto": |
