Pentium II Benchmarks

I made a couple of benchmarks to show the differences between TNT and TNT2. I made these test on two systems with different cards. Let´s begin with the Pentium II system:

Pentium II 450MHz System with 128MB RAM using a ASUS P2-B mainboard

Used graphic cards:
STB Velocity 4400 (TNT) - 8ns SDRAM (16MB) - Clock 90/115 - Detonator v1.20
ASUS V3800 TVR (TNT2) - 7ns SGRAM (32MB) - Clock 125/150 - NVIDIA v1.73
ASUS V3800 TVR (TNT2) - 7ns SGRAM (32MB) - Clock (OC) 150/183 - NVIDIA v1.73
NVIDIA TNT2 ULTRA reference card - 8ns SDRAM (32MB) - Clock 150/183 - NVIDIA v1.73
ASUS V3800 Deluxe (TNT2 ULTRA) - 5,5ns SGRAM (32MB) - Clock 150/183 - NVIDIA v1.73

A word about drivers: The ASUS V3700 drivers are still based on NVIDIA Detonator v1.2x drivers. These drivers can´t show the real performance of the TNT2. So I used the NVIDIA reference drivers v1.73 for the TNT2 cards (I did´nt have the v1.81 drivers when I wrote this article). ASUS told me that they are working on V3800 drivers based on v1.8x. TNT2 Benchmarks based on v1.2x drivers do not show the real performance of the TNT2 and are useless !!!

A word about Quake2 and Kingpin. NVIDIA changed the implementation of the Multitexturing (MT) in the actual TNT2-drivers v1.73. So MT is not used anymore in games based on the Q2 engine. The values may change when a patch is available.
