The AGP 4x compatible card is very compact and well produced. The RADEON chip itself is cooled by the same heatsink/fan combo that we’ve already seen on previous generations of ATi cards, giving the board a characteristic appearance.

The memory consists of 8 Hyundai SDRAM DDR modules rated at 5,5 ns, with four modules on each side of the board. Besides the standard vga connector you’ll find an S-VHS and a composite TV output. The TV-In is limited to a composite input jack.

Now for some facts about the RADEON:

Like NVIDIA’s GeForce2 MX, the RADEON has only 2 pixel pipelines, a fact that ATi tries not to draw too much attention to by burying this information deep within the documentation. Unlike the MX, RADEON can process 3 pixels per pipeline every cycle. For comparison: The GeForce2 GTS has 4 pixel pipelines capable of rendering 2 pixels per cycle each. Since most current games only use "simple" multitexturing, the RADEON is at a disadvantage compared to the GeForce2 until a third texture is introduced.

The 350MHz RAMDAC allows the following refresh rates:
