ATi RADEON - The Empire strikes back (9/15) Benchmarks - Drakan
Drakan is a Direct 3D based game that taxes the CPU just as much as the videocard, if not more. From the following results we can draw the conclusion that the RADEONs drivers arent quite as tweaked as they could be.
The RADEON places last in our Drakan benchmark. It only manages to pass the V5 5500 at 1280x1024 32. The GF2 boards come away victorious in all resolutions.
The RADEONs 3DNow! advantage that we saw in Descent 3 doesnt resurface here, so the board scores just behind the GeForce2 and the Voodoo5.
Higher clockspeed means higher scores for all the cards. Yet the RADEON doesnt seem to benefit as greatly as the other cards. Is this due to the early stage of the RADEONs drivers? Hard to say. Whatever the answer may be, the Drakan is definitely not the RADEONs favorite game. ATis driver team should have check this out and do something about it. |
