Quick-Test: NVIDIA v6.49 drivers (1/9)
New drivers again. The new version v6.49 comes from the card manufacturer eVGA and are available for Windows 9x, Windows NT and Windows 2000. They can be downloaded from their support website. You don´t need an eVGA card to use these drivers because they´re pure reference drivers without any manufacturer locks. They run on all NVIDIA cards from TNT up to GeForce2 Ultra. In the past we saw some massive differences between v6.xx version in performance, stability and FSAA behavior. Reason enough to take a look at the v6.49 release. Install them - or better not !? I compared the new drivers with the most actual drivers offered by NVIDIA: v6.31. And you´ll that I got some very surprising results. I used a GeForce 2 Ultra and tested with the games Evolva, MDK2, Heavy Metal FAKK2, Quake 3, Mercedes Benz Truck Racing and the 3D Benchmark 3D Mark 2000 in Windows 98 SE. Testsystem:
