Evolva - DirectX 7 game - T&L Evolva was the first DirectX game to make use of T&L units on graphics cards.
The first surprise. In Windows 2000 the GeForce 3 is a whopping 23% slower than in Windows 98SE. Windows XP comes in 19% slower. The GeForce 2 Ultra shows similar results. Only the MX400 is slightly slower in Windows 98SE.
My first suspicion was that these results were caused by lacking driver optimizations for the Athlon CPU. The Pentium 4 results prove that this is not the case. The cards show the exact same behavior! The only difference is that the MX400 trails by a smaller margin in Win98SE. The GeForce2 Ultra and the GeForce 3 are slightly faster in Windows XP than in Windows 2000. Neither of them comes anywhere near to Win98 performance though. Under XP, a GeForce 3 drops to the performance level of a GeForce 2 Ultra in Win98!
